Ryszard Woźniak – „Nowa fala popierdala”
Profesor Ryszard Woźniak – Malarz, performer. Urodzony 13 czerwca 1956 w Białymstoku. Prowadzi pracownię malarstwa w Katedrze Sztuki i Kultury Plastycznej na Uniwersytecie Zielonogórskim. Studiował na Wydziale Malarstwa Akademii Sztuk Pięknych w Warszawie w pracowni profesora Stefana Gierowskiego. Współtwórca najważniejszej formacji artystycznej lat 80. – Gruppę. Brał udział w niemal wszystkich jej wystawach i akcjach, współredagował jej pismo „Oj dobrze już”. Współautor polichromii cerkwi neounickiej w Kostomłotach na Podlasiu. Nierzadko w pracach artysty pojawiają się wątki związane z symboliką chrześcijańską. Od 1995 do 2000 roku współtworzył Stowarzyszenie KRAAA (Kolektywny Ruch Animacji Aktywności Artystycznej), animował Galerię PWW – Pracownia Wolnego Wyboru w Zielonej Górze. Należy do grona fundatorów nagrody dla wyróżniających się studentów w ramach Funduszu na Rzecz Popychania Sztuki do Przodu im. Jerzego Ludwińskiego w Zielonej Górze. Obraz „Nowa fala popierdala” został namalowany jako reakcja artysty na wprowadzenie stanu wojennego. Sam artysta komentuje go następująco: „Ważne jest, że obraz ten powstał ze świadomości, że to ja jestem źródłem sztuki malarstwa, i że nie odwołuję się w nim do niczego co wcześniej widziałem. (…) W tym przypadku chodziło mi o osiągnięcie wrażenia, że widzimy flagę Rosji Sowieckiej, jednak bez malowania jej dosłownie. Symbol po prawej stronie; palma i księżyc zastępuje sierp i młot.”

Professor Ryszard Wozniak – painter and performer. Born 13 June 1956 in Bialystok. He runs the painting department of the Faculty of Art and Design at the University of Zielona Gora. He studied at the Department of Painting of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts under Professor Gierowski. He was a founder member of the most important artistic movement of the 1980s – Gruppa. He took part in all of their exhibitions and happenings and he co-edited their periodical, “Oh, it’s ok now/Oj dobrze już”. He is the joint creator of the polychromes in the neo-uniate church in Kostomoloty in the Podlasie region of Poland. He is a frequent user of Christian symbols in his artistic work. From 1995 to 2000 he was the joint founder of the KRAAA Association (The Movement of Active Artistic Animation) and was an animator at the PWW Gallery and the Freedom of Choice Workshop (Pracownia Wolnego Wyboru) in Zielona Gora. He is a co-funder of the prize for the best students as part of the Jerzy Ludwinski Fund to Move Art Forwards in Zielona Gora. The painting “New wave shit storm” was painted as a reaction to the introduction of martial law in Poland. The artist himself comments on it as follows: “It’s important that this painting was created with an awareness that I am the source of painting and that I’m not referring to anything that I may have seen earlier. (…) In this case I meant to achieve an effect that we see the Soviet flag, however without it having been painted as a copy. The symbols on the right of the picture; a palm and moon replace the hammer and sickle.”
