Odznaczony złotym medalem Zasłużony Kulturze Gloria Artis.
Głównym obszarem zainteresowań artysty jest malarstwo niefiguratywne.
Tytuły swoich obrazów ogranicza do numeracji rzymskiej. „Malowanie dziesięciorga przykazań”
to najbardziej znany cykl z lat 80, którym artysta udowodnił, że abstrakcja jest pojemniejsza

“Contemporary Classicist”. An outstanding representative of the Polish avant-garde,
painter, draftsman and educator. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow,
and studied arts history on Jagiellonian University in Krakow. A longtime dean of the
Faculty of Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Awarded the cultural merit gold medal Gloria Artis.
The main area of his interest was non-figurative painting. Titles of his paintings are
limited to Roman numbers. With his most popular series of paintings from the 80s titled ‘Painting
the Ten Commandments’ he has proved abstraction is of greater capacity than figurative presentations.
